15th Entry = LAst BUT not at aLL LeaSt ~From Nothing to Everything~

Salam and hi again,

How do you guys doing?

I think this entry is going to be the last entry

for this semester. I hope I'll be writing this some more

in the future. I do not want to stop blogging as I really like

it very much. For this semester only, I need to write in 3 blogs.

Huhu quite tiring especially when it comes to the part where I

need to search and urge my brain to come out with ideas

to write. Haha... but really I'm getting use to it, and I hope I'll be

writing more and more in the future.

First, in this entry I would like to talk about what I like about blogging.

For me, blogging is a way to express feeling. It is a place for you

to write whatever you think to write, it may be a journal of what you

have been doing throughout the years, day by day. It may also be

a portfolio where you reflect on your work, studies or projects.

It shows the development of learning. That is why I like blogging.

From the very first week, I learn and develop and I reflect back

on my learning through my entries from week to week.

Besides, through blogging I can

also share videos, and also interesting pictures for my friends

or readers to enjoy and at the same time understand what I want

to convey through my writing. Through blogging also, I feel relax

when I am writing it. For example, like what I am doing right now,

I am listening to musics and write this. hehe.. take time and enjoy

yourself.

Secondly, what I want to write here is what I DO NOT like about blogging.

Hmm.. from my experience of dealing with other Web 2.0 like social

networking, social bookmark, video sharing, photo sharing and editing software,

for me blogging is still not much into the features. If we compared to social

networking like Facebook, Windows Live or Twitter. All that have more features

and even games for us to play. This make blogging is not much attractive if

compared to the social network. But, still it has it own advantages like what I have

explain before.

In addition, blogging did not really connect us to our friends. Like what I have said before,

it is hard for us to go to others blog unless we are being updated about that. Of course,

we have bloglines for us to visit and explore on what our friends have been updated

but still it is not as fast as being in social network.

Thirdly and fourthly, although blogging has some disadvantages which I could not bare to like it,

but really it helps me a lot in improving my language skills especially in writing.

Blogging really helps me to write and express ideas at the same time. It make

me thinking and thinking and improve my critical thinking skills and thought processes.

I need to write every week for the whole semester and it is not for one subject

but threee subject. For me, before this I take time to write,

I need to think, brainstorming some ideas and then I can start writing and may

stuck at certain point. But now, when I need to write in the blog, I just open it,

create new post and start writing what ever I have in my mind. It is not really

difficult as before. I am not struggling to write and I just need to express everything.

Before tjis, it is hard for me to express myself but through blogging I find it really

helpfull in term of self-expression.

Also, blogging helps me in technology skills. I learn how to make blog when

I enter this course. To be honest, I do not have any blog before and I do not have any

urge to make one as before this I do not see any advantages of doing this

except of wasting time. haha... but now I'm quite addicted to it....hehe...

I also improve my typing skills and also internet skills. I learn from steps to

steps to make my blog looks beautiful, neat and make me want to read it and

also the readers hopefully and at last here it is, my PBEY 3102- Heaven of Teaching.

I am quite proud of myself, haha to be able to finally create and have my own blog.

I really learn a lot in the process of accomplishing it actually. From, creating, decorating,

adding features, changing the setting, everything are very useful for me and really

improve my skills in every way of learning.

Fifth, about this whole course, PBEY 3102,

as I called it Heaven of Teaching, it explains everything,

What I like about this course is I learn A LOT.

Very very much learning about technologies

which sometimes make me sick of looking at my own laptop...haha...

But I enjoy it and I really LOVE this course,

I learn from the very beginning on internet skills, especially

on how to search for imformations and a lot more...

Then, as time moves, I also learn on how to edit pictures, videos

and also audio. I also learn on certain software that can be used in

teaching an ESL classroom like Microsoft Publisher.

Also, making the video is the best part. haha... I do not sleep just

because of making sure that I did the best for the video including

what song that I should use to make the video interesting. For that only,

I took almost 2 hours to make a right choice. Whatever it is, I really

ENJOY in the process of making it and also in other skills.

Sixth, what I DO NOT like about this couse?

Hmm... maybe it just contains a lot of work to do. I admit that as we

were having other work to complete, it is quite stessful

to have all the workloads... haha..but I think each and

everyone of us are doing it quite well. We manage to go through

it and do it all well. That is what I like about Cohort 4...

We always been naughty and say that there are lots of things to do,

BUT at the end everything FINISH. We manage to do IT!!!

Hehe..I think that is all what I do not like about this course..

Everything else is quite okay so far.

Seventh, I want to talk about what I have learnt throughout the whole course.

For me, this course really help me in terms of preparing for my future.

It does really help me in using technology in the classroom. before this, I never

know that, there are so many ways to improve my teaching in the

classroom by using technology. And the BEST thing is, it is FAST and cheap

also. I do not need other thing except my Laptop and some other aids like

CD and LCD projector and I think all that are provided in most school

nowadays. So why wasting such a big opportunity. It does not help me

financially only but also in time consuming. I do not have to take much time

to prepare a technological teaching aid.

I already learn on internet skills, editing pictures and audios, making

videos and using software. So, why waste everything that I have learnt.

I will try to treasure all the skills learnt in this course especially

as my aids in teaching.

Eighth, what did I learnt that I did not expect to learn from this course? I think I

will only learn on a few things on what we can be using later in the classroom but

it turns out that I learnt almost all the skills needed in technological field.

I never though that it will be this MUCH!!! Haha.. I am glad to have learnt all

that or else, I will still refrain from the technological world. I will still be using the

hand made teaching aids only. Before this, what I know is using Power Point only.

But, I never know that they are so much things that I can explore and utilize it

to the maximum.

Ninth, what I have expected but do not learn from this course? Hmm.. I think

I expected more on theoretically learning this subject.. Haha.. about what

are video editing and on and on.. But in the end, all what we have learnt is

hands-on learning and more to independantly learning. Haha.. but I love it,

as if it is theoretically I might be dozzed off in the classroom rather than listening

to the lecture.. So, for me, this course is MORE than what were expected.

Tenth, hmmm... about changing anything about this course, I cannot think

much. Maybe just improving on the group work. I know that it will be fair if we work

with different people but sometimes this also makes us difficult to work.

This is because, we choose to work with group that we think it is easier for us

to divide work and meet to complete work, if we always changing group,

it really confuses us and also a little bit difficult to meet and take time for us

to get together. So, I think it is better for us to stick in one or maybe two group

only in the whole semester.

Last but not least, if I am to rate my computing and technological skills

for both before and undergoing the course on scale 1-10, I will give 3

for before I am in the course and 8 for after I am in the course. After all the learning,

I learn from Nothing to EVERYTHING. Not to say, I do not know anything about

technology before, I've been using computers and internet before todo my work

and search for information like using MS Word, MS Publisher and MS Power Point,

Using Yahoo and Google search engine to search for information or images that I need.

I also used to use KeepVid to download video from Youtube and some more

other skills. But not AS MUCH as what I have learnt in the course. Mostly,

like photo and audio editng it is totally new for me. And also in creating the video.

Before this, I just know about Windows Media Maker and never take any chance

to use it and haha now EVERYTHING is at my fingertips. I can just use it anytime

I want to and it is really fast. So, I think I am really able to use what I have learnt from this

course. The other 2 over 10 is for rooms for improvement. There are a lot

more knowledge in technological world that I need to explore. Everything will

improve and change.. That is why I need to continue learning. And so as you all

out there. Never stop learning and make it a life-long learning. May you all EXCELL in everything you do in the future!!!

All in all, for me,

I really learned A LOT from this course,

this course help me in improving myself in everyway

including of dealing with stress. Hehe.. But I manage to go through all

of it. I hope, My friends and I are able to be good teachers in the future.

We really hope for THE BEST!!!!

I think that is all for my last entry in this semester.. Sayonara...

semester..Hope you all enjoy reading it and I also want to take this ooportunity

to say sorry for all the wrong the doing especially to the lecturer, Puan Foziah

and also all my friends. I also want to thank all of you, without the help

from all of you, I will not be able to complete this course successfully.

Yeaayyy...Here it comes... The 14th week!

Salam and hi to all,
how are you guys doing?
It is week 14 already... The last week of this semester...
Which means exam is around the corner..Huhu that the
worse part...
How about your preparation?
Hmm... me???? haha..still no courage to study....

This week,
in PBEY 3102 class,
nothing much happen....
Puan foziah just sharing some stories with us,
and from the stories told, it really encourages me to go abroad,
to further my studies and also to see other people's region.
I really want to see other country in the world,
experiencing new things, new environment...
New friends maybe... Huhu how I wish I
could do that...Maybe with God will,nothing is impossible...

What else? We also having a short discussion on
planning and making a Lesson Plan....
What is a lesson plan? and why we need lesson plan?
Hmm.. if you are teachers lesson plan is a very common thing
yet important as it is a plan for us teachers to carry out the
lesson in the classroom as what we have planned and arranged.
Lesson plan is very much needed for teachers to give a
benchmark to start the lesson and also to make us prepare
the teaching aids or whatever needed in order to
teach a lesson. The teaching aids may be in technological form
like video, edited pictures, e-book and a lot more types of
technological teaching aids,
and it may be hand made or more or less non technological teaching aids like
flashcards and posters.

Hmm... Puan foziah also discuss some very important
things that she want to have in the lesson plan.
All these process to make a lesson plan is very important
for us for our future use as teachers. We will not be struggling around
searching for suitable lessons as we can easily adapt what
we have made here from the very first year we study until
the end. For me, everything that we have learned are
made intentionally for our future use. We should waste any of what we
have been learning or made throughout the whole
year of learning.


Hmm.. so guys make full use of what we have been learning ok.
Nothing will work out if we do not work for it.
Nothing is impossible if you make it possible.
So, I think that is all for this entry. We will meet again in
my 15th entry of all.

~13th Week~ Software = The Use of Microsoft Publisher

Hmm..I'm sure most of us already know what is the software..
It is one of the software in Microsoft Office which is
MICROSOFT PUBLISHER....



This week class in PBEY3102 = Heaven of Teaching,
we were introduced to the Microsoft Publisher which I think
most of us are very familiar with it.. So, it is not a
problem for us to produce something using MS Publisher.

What MS Publisher can do?
We can produced a lot of projects using this software namely
advertisement, brochure, fliers, invitation cards,
business cards, booklet and a lot more...
All these are very useful for us especially to produce the teaching aids...



What else? We also have some more discussion on our assignments,
test date and also some more clarification on what we have to add to our
assignments...

As for me, the use of the software will help us in our future teaching.
We have completed all the modules for all the 14 weeks...
We have learned on internet skills, photo editing, audio editing,
video editing and also software in teaching English as a second language.
All what we have learned are very useful for us as teachers.
We learned a lot and we know how to produced all those things by ourself.
We will be independent on producing things and teaching aids for our
lesson.

All in all, I really hope that we will use fully what we have been learning
for this whole semester...

ViDEo SuBmiTteD At LAsT!!!= Week 12

Salam hi guys!
It's week 12 already!
Did you all realize that time move on very fast?
Just like in a blink of an eye.... And here we are....
In UM, our second home now...
Everything are still very new to me and I'm missing
maktab very very much!

Hmmm... as for week 12, this week
is the week where we submitted our produced video!
Ya, at last! We send it and I am really satisfied with the
video produced by my pair, Zulhuzni and me...
For me, it is a BLAST!!!
as we were working very hard to complete the video...
We shoot some scene and takes some pictures in order to complete it...
All the scene is not an easy work, it just take some time
and also plan to make it a success...
I am also glad that my friends are also helping us in
publishing this video.. Thanks to Safian, Ayuni, Fiera, Hakim, Illi,
Syikin, Faizal, Safri and Thanusia for helping us....

This week, after uploading all the video to the main PC,
we watched the video produced by all of us one after another.
For me, each and everyone of us has done a very good job!
All the videos are SUPERB!!!! Thumbs up guys....
I am very sure that after this, it is not a problem for
us to produce any video either for pleasure or to be used
as teaching aids in our classroom teaching....

The learning and the experience of producing the video
will surely help us in the future as we will be using
all the techniques that we have learned throughout our
teaching practice. By learning all these, we will be able
to enhance the students' learning by applying different
and variety of teaching aids and also use various methods
so that all our students will love the lesson and can
understand the lesson better...
All in all, I'm sure that all of us will be the best teachers
in the future as I know each and everyone of us
is working hard towards achieving the dreams...

Week 11= Presentation and Discussion

Mood: Still in Raya Mood!

Want to take this chance to wish Selamat Hari Raya again to all...
Hehe...Now back to work mode....
Week 11 already past and there are only 3 weeks more to go...

First and foremost, how's your Hari Raya guys? Must be splendid right?
Hope you all enjoy it to the maximum as they are some more work and assignment waiting..
As in week 11, we combined with Tuesday group as our lecturer Puan Foziah is
not in well condition... Thus, on that day, some of the groups presented on the
articles that we got before...
There are different findings from every article and I think all the groups did
a very good job in presenting...

As for my group, we presented about the use of technology in English Language Learning...
From my own understanding about the article, in English Language Learning it should involve all the 4 elements or the 4 basic skills which are speaking, listening, reading and writing. It is important to use technology to enhance all those skills so that pupils will be able to acquire their English Language easily.


On the other hand, after every group has presented their article, we discussed about the assignment that we need to send within this 3 weeks. This is because, there is some confusion with the Tuesday group as we the Thursday group did not aware that assignment 2 need to be send in week 12 together with the video. However, all confusion were solved on that day and I think all of us are clear on what to do and when all of the assignment are due.

Hmm.. I think that is all on what happen on last Thursday.. I think the presentation is good for us so that we would be able to present lessons to our students in the future. Same goes with all the other assignment.. As appear in my blog title PBEY 3102 -Heaven of Teaching, this course clearly provided us with all things that we need to prepare for a real classroom. We learn by ourselves on how to prepare teaching aids, how to create our own video, editing pictures and audio and a lot more..

As for me, all these will really help us in the future. So, keep up the hard work guys...

The MayoNnaise Jar and 2 Cups of CoFfEe

When things in your life seem , almost too much to handle,
When 24 Hours in a day is not enough,
Remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class
And had some items in front of him.
When the class began, wordlessly,
He picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar
and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students, if the jar was full.
They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured
them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly.
The pebbles rolled into the open Areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.
Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively
filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor, as the laughter subsided,
'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.
The golf balls are the important things - family,
children, health, Friends, and Favorite passions ˆ
Things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, Your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car.

The sand is everything else --The small stuff.

'If you put the sand into the jar first,' He continued,
'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.
The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff,
You will never have room for the things that are important to you.

So...

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.
Play With your children.
Take time to get medical checkups.
Take your partner out to dinner.

There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.

'Take care of the golf balls first --
The things that really matter.
Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled.
'I'm glad you asked'.

It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem,
there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.'

Ramadhan in week 10, it is already coming to an end...
Huhu... I am so sad as i don't think this Ramadhan is better than before...
I'm sorry Ya Allah, I'm so sorry for all the sins I've done...
I hope I will meet you Ramadhan next time, I'll be missing you throughout this year..

But.....
Yes, Syawal is coming...It is around the corner..
I think most of us are thinking about hari raya right now,
everything is about raya, raya, and raya..
The new clothes, kuih raya, balik kampung..hehe..
That are the discussions going on when we meet any of our friends..
Even today, I meet a woman who I never talk to, and she asks
me when I'll go back to hometown..The discussion go on and on about hari raya..
Heehe.. the message here is Hari Raya could make
people united. We are 1 Malaysia right?

Hmm...about today's class... there are only 18 people here today..
Like I said all of us are in Raya mood... Some already back to hometown,
even we are here in the class but our mind is already fly to hometown..
Thinking of what my mom is doing for Raya preparation...
My sisters helping out whatever necessary and lot more things to do at home..
The feeling, the happiness, the eagerness..hehe.. That was what I'm thinking of
right now...

Haha..I'm not talking about what happen in class yet.. Only raya and raya..
hehe..okay, about the class some of us already show their storyboard including me...
And we also see two videos...
I'm attracted to the video about "Bidadari Syurga"..
The song and the pictures used give a very big impact and I'm very touched with the video...
I'm thinking that, it would be good if I could be like the one described in the song to my
husband.. Hehe.. I really want to be a good wife to my husband in the future..

Class end early today.. We leave at 11.30 and heading straight home as most of us
need to pack our belongings to go back to our hometown!
Hmm I think that is all that I want to talk for now....

I hope that these Ramadhan and Syawal are blessed by Allah
from the beginning till the end... I want to seek for forgiveness from all of you
from the small matter to big one.. I'm so sorry if anything that I did hurt all of you

9th week past.. Almost the end of Ramadhan..

Salam and hi to all,
we meet again.. The 9th week past already..
we are heading to the 10th week... and only 5 week left
for this very first semester, life in UM....
hmmm.. so far I think I'm able to suit myself the chaotic life of
university students, being stuffed with excessive work sometimes
make me feel really tired but all that does not stop me to learn...
For me learning is still the best part of life.. having friends around,
supporting me, discussing, sharing are part of the best things
which I could only have when I'm still learning...
World of work will definitely not going to be the same..

Okay, as for this week class, we started the class by watching some videos about Chun and Ella and also some videos produced by our seniors. All the videos, for me are very interesting
and have the messages conveyed through it. Thus,
from that we know that what we we are going to learn is about producing a video,
and also editing video. The task is we need to produce a video in pair.
We are given some time to discuss on the theme of the video and what
we want the content to be. The most important thing that need
to be included in our video is the message. We can produce any video
that we want but it must have a message conveyed through the
content of the video. For this task, I'm pairing with Zul. He is very enthusiastic
to produce the video and he is also willing to act for the video. I'm glad that I'm
working with him. I do not mind actually as long as I'm comfortable and the
work is done. To Zul, Chaiyok!! We will try our best to produce a good video.

When we finished discussing, we need to tell Puan Foziah the theme and the
plot of the vidoe that we are going to produce. This is because, by doing this
we will know that our video is acceptable or not and luckily our ideas are accepted
and just need to make some changes in some part of the story.

Hmm... about our video, we choose the theme "respecting and appreciating our parents".
We are going to shoot some scenes and put some other things that are going to make our video interesting like pictures and songs. In producing the video, Puan Foziah suggested some
softwares that we could use to compile and produce the video. Some of the
softwares are, One True Media, Window Media Maker and Video Edit Magic.


Next week, we need to show the storyboard to Puan Foziah. We are
working on it on the very best. Hopefully all are going to turn out well
and we could produce the best for this course. Have a good day and take care,
